The Islands is the name Weston gives to the cluster of island-named neighborhoods off Indian Trace: Palm, Orchid, Hibiscus, Jasmine North, Jasmine South, Camellia and Maple. The city maps them as one area, and we group them the same way, because that is how people search and how they drive it.

One thing to know up front: it is an area, not a single homeowners association. Each island is separately run, so dues, rules and gate arrangements change from one island to the next even though the streets connect.

The scale varies just as much. Maple Island is small enough that you would know most of your neighbors by sight. Camellia is roughly three times its size and reads like a conventional Weston street. Same area, same schools, quite different daily feel, which is why a price from one island is a weak guide to the next.

Schools are shared: Indian Trace Elementary, then Tequesta Trace Middle and Cypress Bay High.
